A pig, also known as a 'mole', pushes product out of the pipe before flushing or a product change. The pig is pushed with propellant through a pipe filled with product. This increases your production capacity, because you recover product that would otherwise be washed away. Afterwards, the pipe can be cleaned faster and you have less chance of product mixing.
