Lids are indispensable for inspecting tanks, adding products to the process and cleaning the tanks. There is a particular type of lid for every application. From large manhole covers to smaller inspection or handhole covers. We supply glass and pressure lids from Zorzini, Zimmerlin and Fratelli Laveggi. Recently, we have expanded our range of Laveggi lids, which is why we are highlighting this brand in this blog.
Tanks are often used in the food industry. A lid is placed on every tank in which something has to be looked at and/or added to the production process. The lid is used to clean the tank. This concerns storage tanks and points in the process line. The lids match the shape of the jacket. At the top and bottom of tanks, lids are usually placed that open outwards. In this way, the lids are not in the way when adding materials or entering the tank.
Because there are many different types of application, there are many different types of lids available. Take, for example, lids that must withstand pressure and lids that are not subject to high pressure forces. In some process tanks, pressure is built up during the process. It is then necessary that the lid can withstand this pressure, so that no pressure is lost along the lid. Fratelli Laveggi has various types of pressure-resistant and pressure-free lids in its range. The type of closure depends on the type of lid. An oval manhole (opening inwards) has a different closure than a rectangular or round manhole. Besides this, pressure lids have more closures than a non-pressure lid.

One of the most popular lids at the moment is the D26 from Fratelli Laveggi, because these glass lids have a pressure range of -1/+3 bar. With dimensions from DN300 to DN600, these lids can be applied to various tanks. Polycarbonate glass can be mounted on request, resistant to temperatures above 150°C.
