The SMS 1145 (Swedish Manufacturing Standard) couplings are used in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The SMS coupling consists of four parts, namely: a welding point and a welding thread piece that is attached with a union nut. The coupling is sealed with a square seal. The SMS coupling is often used because it is easy to dismantle. The point does not have to be removed from the threaded piece and because of the square flat shape of the gasket, revision is very easy.

The shape of an SMS gasket is square. There are various materials you can use for sealing. Depending on the temperature and the medium, you can apply the right seal. The gaskets are available in EPDM, FKM, NBR and PTFE with or without a lip.
As standard, these couplings are available with a 3.1 certificate according to EN10204. The gaskets are available with an FDA or EC1935/2004 certificate.
